The Cutest Cottage, Part 3: Bedroom Reveal

The last room to reveal from our CUTEST COTTAGE is the Primary Bedroom. It’s a nice size room that the owners wanted to be a true retreat. They wanted to be able to relax, talk to each other and not have interference from the outside world, like a tv. Can you believe, there is not one in this room! Yes, to that decision!

We began by selecting the bed frame. The bed was the largest item to go in the room. We wanted one that wasn’t overly bulky, but had a primary bedroom feel. We landed on this beautiful wood and upholstered bed that combines the couple’s California style with southern warmth. It makes a statement, but is not obtrusive.

If you have been following along you know that we replaced most all of the lighting in this home. This room was not overlooked. We added a beautiful glass and brass chandelier to the space.

We used similar wood tones for the nightstands to coordinate with the bed, but not be matchy.

We added lots of soft, neutral pillows and bedding to make you want to just jump in and get under those covers for the night.

To make the space feel cozy we incorporated drapery panels on either side of the bed. It provided a frame for the “bed nook”.

We brought in some subtle color in the area rug. It has light neutrals and a bit of pink.

At the end of the bed we added a bench with a soft faux fur. It continued the comfy and cozy theme.

Lastly, we added a long dresser that provides great storage. It adds a vintage vibe to the space while still keeping it pulled together.

Pretty artwork as well as beautiful wedding photos add warmth and meaning to the space.

Working with clients that have great taste and ideas provided a wonderful collaboration not to mention a fun one! Don’t forget to check out the other room reveals for this adorable home. You can read about the Family Room Reveal, the Dining Room Reveal, and the Kitchen Nook, too.
