how to create an inviting guest suite-Harvard Drive Guest Bedroom Reveal

Another room that our Harvard Drive clients wanted to update was their guest room. The couple is an empty nester whose daughter comes to visit regularly. They wanted a more sophisticated space for her and her husband to stay in when they came to town. They needed better storage and a prettier room. We worked on this room at the same time we were working on the powder bathroom. Here is how the room looked before we got in there.

It looked like it was the room where all the leftover furniture was stored. We wanted to create a room that a visitor could relax in, as well as one that looked pretty. Luckily, our client wanted the full treatment; wallpaper, drapes and new furniture.

Here is the design we landed on:

We changed the bed and drapes from the initial presentation to include print fabrics, but other than that, this design is exactly what we presented to the client for the room. The only item missing from the board was the wallpaper we used in the room.

Here are the final pictures of the space:

The room turned out beautiful! It’s inviting and warm with a cozy vibe. It has plenty of storage with a dresser on one wall and nightstands with drawers next to the bed. There’s a pretty bench by the window to sit on or put additional items while visiting. We used a beautiful Schumacher fabric for the drapes that match the lumbar pillow on the bed. The wallpaper is a pretty lavender which picks up on the color from the bed and drapes. We are absolutely delighted with the finished space.
