3 Ways Your Home Can Support Your New Year's Goals

Your home is a reflection of you! It helps create an environment that can be calming, soothing and comforting! It is a place of refuge and where the best comes out in all of us! That means our home should support our personal goals! Including those resolutions we all come up with at the beginning of the new year. It makes achieving them so much easier. Here are 3 ways we can do that!

Goal 1. Feeling Organized & in control

I think one of the most common resolutions for most people is to get organized!

Being organized allows us to feel in control. And who doesn't want to feel like that? Having a home with built-ins' made for your specific needs has a great payoff. Having a closet built with drawers, shelving and hanging space mapped out for your clothes allows you to start your day off on the right foot.

Having your pantry built for your families’ specific needs helps everyone find exactly what they need, quickly. Having your kitchen cabinetry built with thought on where the spices, pots and pans, bakeware, dishes, etc. are located makes cooking, setting the table, etc. a breeze.

You get the idea! These are all ways to help instill and maintain organization. An organized home makes an organized mind.

Goal 2. More Daily Mindfulness

Being mindful in today's world is not easy.

We are constantly going in 20 directions. Having a place where we can put everything aside and be totally present for our family is a way for all of us to recharge. Making sure we have designated zones for your phones to be put away and recharged allows you to be present in your conversations within your home. Having a designated computer area to do work and homework creates less distraction in the rest of the house. Having your home designed with zones in mind create a calm and mindful place.

Goal 3. Increase Physical Activity or Exercise

Lastly, I think almost everyone has a resolution to get in shape. It doesn't matter if your already there, it just seems to always be on the list. Having a home gym designed is the ultimate way to achieve this goal.

Not all of us have the space or the money to have this in our home. Having an exercise zone set up to house weights, tennis shoes, stretch bands, etc. can help achieve the same goal without the monetary input.

We all know New Year's resolutions are not easy to achieve. We seem to all start off strong, but as the weeks pass by the resolutions become less and less important. Having your home designed to promote your resolutions makes achieving them so much easier. Having a designer in your back pocket only helps in getting there!
